Our village and the region

You will find all facilities in our village within 200 meters of Torre Nova. The bakery, two small supermarkets, a drugstore, pharmacy, health center and some restaurants. In Spain you can pay everywhere with your credit or debit card with pin code.

The shops in the village are open from Monday to Saturday from 8.30 am - 1.30 pm and from 5 pm - 8.30 pm. Arriving at Torre Nova on Sunday? The shops in the village are open on Sundays until 1.30 pm. The major supermarkets in the region are closed on Sundays, except for Bon Preu in Caollabtó next to the A2 motorway from Barcelona to Torre Nova. You can do your shopping here on Sundays from 09:00 am to 14:30 pm. Google maps

For groceries you will find a shopping bag in the apartment (next to the fridge).

To the shops: from the gate of Torre Nova turn left into Carrer del Castell, after 50 meters turn right and you will find the drugstore (Clarel) and Supermercado Ana on the right and the bakery on the left. If you walk a little further from Supermercado Ana, turn left at the crossroads and follow the road upwards, you will find the larger supermarket Ca la Pilar.

Bakery

On the terrace of baker Rafael and his wife Ina you can drink a good Spansh coffee and also enjoy an extensive 'Torre Nova' breakfast for € 9 p.p. (no charge for toddlers). Be surprised by the hospitality, you enjoy breakfast among the villagers. At least once a must to start the day for the experience! Rafa would like to know a day in advance so that everything is ready when you arrive. You can book it dierctly at the bakery or hrough us.

Open from Monday to Sunday from 8.15 to 1.30 pm, so you can get fresh (baguette) bread every day. You can also have a good Spanish coffee here, e.g. café Americano, café con leche or café cortado. Rafa and Ina don't speak English, but point to what you want and it will be all right. They sell all kinds of baguettes (white baguette is called baguette, light brown baguette is called 'baguette integral', ciabatta, small and large croissants).

Supermarket Ana

Open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 1.30pm and from 5pm to 8.30pm. Saturday and Sunday only in the morning from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.

Supermarket Ca la Pilar

Open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm and from 5 pm to 8.30 pm. On weekends only in the morning from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Drugstore Clarel

Open from Mon to Sat from 9 am to 1.30 pm and from 5 pm to 8.30 pm. Note: The drugstore does not sell aspirin or other medicines, you will have to go to the pharmacy.

Pharmacy

Open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 1.30 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm. Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm. Carrer Sant Joan Baptista 2 (on the left side of the bakery block). You can buy aspirin, mosquito repellent and first aid items here. They also sell homeopathic remedies, diapers and baby food.

Post office

Open from Mon to Fri from 10.30 am to 11.30 am. Carrer d'en Serralonga (to the left of the boulangerie block). You cannot buy stamps there, but you can buy them at the cigarette shop next to Supermercado Ana. The yellow mailbox is outside next to the door.

ATM

You will find the ATM in front of the police station (leave the gate and after 50 m on the right). You can withdraw money day and night. When entering a non-Spanish bank card, you get an English screen. Note: this ATM charges a relatively high commission.

Petrol station

Google maps - 5 minutes drive. Open from Mon to Sun from 06:00 to 22:00. Repsol, address C-244 km 8.1. Next to the DIA supermarket. In Spain you often have to pay first before you can refuel, except if you indicate that you want to fill up your car, you indicate this at the counter. There is also a car wash where you can wash your car.

Within a 5 - 15 minute drive from Torre Nova you will find a number of large supermarkets. They are open from Mon to Sat from 9 am to 9 pm. They are closed on Sundays, but you can visit the village shops in the morning, or BonPreu along the A2 motorway (see below).

Bon Preu (large)

Collbató (27 km): along the A2 motorway (exit 575) from Barcelona to La Torre de Claramunt: Avenida Centenari Amadeus Vives 2, Collbató. Open on Sunday from 09:00 to 14:30. Handy if you arrive on a Sunday and want to do your shopping at a large supermarket on the way. Google maps

Take-away at la Mozzarella (on the facade it says Ponderosa) (150 m)

A simple but good village restaurant that serves tapas, pizzas, pastas and sandwiches. They also have Italian ice cream. The menu can be found below. Leave the gate, straight ahead (road straight out of the village), after 150m at the right. You can also eat inside and on the large outdoor terrace.

Take-away at supermarket Mercadona (10 min)

Mon to Sat 9 am - 9 pm. Carretera de la Pobla 1, 08788 Vilanova del Cami. You can pick up take-awaye meals at Mercadona. Directly at the entrance is a counter with a wide choice of take-away dishes, such as paella, fish dishes, grilled chicken, nuggets, tortilla, hamburgers, pizza, lasagna, macaroni, etc. Google maps

Mon to Sun from 7 pm to 10.30 pm. Carrer de Sarria de Ter 20, Capellades. Google maps. Do you want to have it delivered? Then order via tel. +34 931205166 note: extension number 1 for the branch in Capellades (they speak English). Indicate that you are staying at Torre Nova (Carrer Torre Nova 14 in La Torre de Claramunt) and provide your own telephone number, then you will be called when the pizza delivery person is at the gate.

Take-away kebab & doner (10 min)

In Capellades (5 minutes drive) you will find a train station of the FGC (Ferrocarril de la Genarlitat de Catalunya). With line R6 you can go to Barcelona (about 1h15). Google maps

Please note: you can only buy tickets from the machine on the platform, not on the train. Choose a 5 zone ticket to Barcelona Plaza España (terminus of line R6).
