La Torre de Claramunt

Torre Nova is situated in La Torre de Claramunt, a pituresque medieval village. It is easily accessible, 55 km from Barcelona. It is situated at 350 meters altitude, on the border of the famous wine region 'el Penedès' and the forested area 'l'Anoia'. Around the castle and 11th century Romanesque church lies the medieval center, of which Torre Nova forms part. The restaurants, bars, shops and other facilities are all within walking distance. A perfect starting point for a varied holiday in Catalonia.

Nature all around

Torre Nova covers 9 acres: a varied landscape of forested hills, fruit orchards, vegetable gardens and fields. The estate and its surroundings are ideal for hiking, you'll encounter few people on the way.

Culture and sporty leasure

In the immediate vicinity there is plenty to see and to do. Tour the hills and vineyards. Castell de Claramunt is an impressive fortress with a magnificent view. In Igualada you'll find nice shops and restaurants and a leather museum. From the airport of Odena you can make a flight by plane or a hot air balloon. The nearby town of Capellades offers a Roman site as well as a surprising paper museum. There is a great diversity of sports action: swimming, hiking, cycling, mountain biking, golf, tennis, horse riding, abseiling, karting and more...

From bodegas to Barcelona

The region offers a great variety. Barcelona, the vibrant metropolis of the Mediterranean. Sitges: Spain's St. Tropez. The mysterious mountain of Montserrat, with the famous monastery and the sculpture of the 'Black Madonna'. The Penedès wine region with its famous bodegas, and in every town or village there are the lively summer events.

Paella and tapas

Food is very important in the Mediterranean. Spaniards have lunch, dinner and even breakfast outdoors. In our village you will find authentic Catalan cuisine, such as the local paella 'fideuà', or 'escalivada ": grilled Mediterranean vegetables. A typical dish is the grilled "Calçot ', green spring onions which are only grown here and which are the focus of a local celebration, and, of course, tapas in all possible variations.

A mild climate

The climate in Catalonia is mild nearly all year. In summer the maximum temperature is between 25 and 30 degrees. Spring starts as early as late February and the autumn is particularly soft. Winters are cool but rarely cold, though it might occasionally snow.
